From time to time we have all had to ask ourselves, "This is from Ohio REALTORS. It looks different. Should we open, or not?" Organizations everywhere are facing this dilemma.

With our members in mind, we have created this resource page for you to be able to determine if it's spam or actually a legitimate email. If something is out there that is not legitimate we will let you know here. Please bookmark this page and let it serve as your resource for any 'spam' you may receive from Ohio REALTORS.

Michelle Billings is supposed to take care of it, but he is unavailable to process the payment at the moment, I will process your reimbursement once the treasurer is available.

Let me know if this is convenient for you today via Zelle, So, I can forward you the vendor details.

SPAM ALERT ... 3.18.2023

You have received a message from From Ohio REALTORS [oar@ohiorealtors.org] secure messaging system
To access the secure document
Save and open the attachment (Secure Message.html), and follow the instructions to access the document.
Encrypted message from OneDrive secure messaging system

NOTES: 

The sender looks legit, as it includes "oar@ohiorealtors.org", but that was just cleverly added to the email display name that comes before the email address. The real email address the message was sent from is enclosed in "< >" brackets; in this case "<>"

Furthermore, Ohio REALTORS would never send an unexpected "secure document" or "secure email/message" without explanation.

SPAM ALERT | 10.31.2022

In the email (at right) there are a number of clues that should tell you this is not legitimate... it's SPAM ...

  1. Look at the sender's email you can clearly see it is not coming from . This will be your first clue not to open.
  2. We will never send you a secure document from oar@ohiorealtors. We only use this email for online publications. These publications are never secure.
  3. The Convention took place Sept. 18-21. This spam email dates Oct. 31.
